Youth and adolescent 

Youth as a young person male or female between the age of 18-35 years while adolescent is a period after school age. It is a period when young people discover and solidify their identity. A period of molding life. This starts at the age of 13-20.

There are three levels of adolescent hood

1.      It’s a time most decision

2.      What career or what to do in life

3.      They are strong and vigorous

The scripture says in Ecc.12:14 “Remember now thy creator in   the days of your youth…” this, the wisest man (Solomon) said due to the authorities of the youth. They are being used for both negative and positive exercises that may cause serious unrest or bring about great changes in the positive direction depending on how they are used.

The adolescent period is very important as they need to be helped to resolve issues of life, reason with them. Bearing in mind that career choices are made during this period hence they should be given serious attention.

Proverbs 22:6 says: “Train up a child in the way he should grow, not an adult, hence the role of an adult in modeling youth. Training starts as a child so that when he grows up, he will not depart from it

If played well, you will benefit. If the foundation is laid in the fear of God he will be useful but if he has seen his parents (adults) live in violence he ends up being violent.

Correct an erring youth by prayers, reasoning together, and using his influences. Challenge the youth/adolescent, make them know that time is the greatest asset they have, they should use it wisely. Every youth must be a change maker, what even you what to be in this world must start now.

Sit down; think out great ideas to change your world positively. Take example from David, Daniel, Joseph and Jesus.

Youths are important forces to be reckoned with because they determine the prospect of any nation. All effort should be made towards equipping them for tomorrow.
