After independence in 1960, the Federal Ministry of National Economic Planning and Development was the engine room of our national development, but since the introduction of the Structural Adjustment Programme, the ministry was phased out and the Nigerian economy has been declining. No thanks to the International Monetary Funds. Publication of National Development Plans has since been replaced with annual budgets that focus on the sharing of oil revenue. The current Federal Ministry of Planning does not publish any National Economic Development Plan. Please restore back the Federal Ministry of Economic Planning and Development in the interest of our national progress
