The Police in Lagos on Wednesday killed five suspected outfitted burglars and captured one with slugs wounds.
Police sources told the News Agency of Nigeria in Ikeja that the suspects had drawn in policemen from Elemoro Division, Ajah in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area in a shootout where they were slaughtered.
He said that five of them were slaughtered on the spot and one harmed by projectiles was captured.
The source said, "The police in Elemoro got data that the suspects were working at Abule Parapo, inverse Awoyaya in Elemoro region of Ajah around 2 a.m.
"The suspects connected with the police in a shootout when they saw them. Two privately made twofold barrel shot weapons, one cutlass and iron cutter was recouped from them.
"The posse had been threatening occupants of Ajah, victimizing and assaulting ladies."
NAN reports that the cadavers of the dead and the harmed suspects were conveyed to the Lagos State Police Command home office, Ikeja at around 12.15 p.m.
The agents of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad have assumed control over the case record from the Divisional Police Officer at Elemoro, SP Sani Limawa for further examination.
Whenever reached, the summon's representative, DSP Joseph Offor, said he had yet to get the points of interest from the division as at press time.
