Seven young ladies utilizing hijab to camouflage themselves and avoid capture were among the 12 people blocked by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Katsina on their approach to Europe.
This brings the aggregate number of people captured by the NIS to 40 over the most recent four months as they attempted to cross different lawful and illicit courses to Agadez in Niger Republic on the way Libya then Europe.
While parading the casualties, the Comptroller of Immigration in the state, Mohammed Yaro Rabiu, said the hijab was a distraction proposed to cover and get simple entry at the fringe. All the protected casualties are Nigerians from Edo State and will be given over to NAPTIP for further action, he said.
The casualties are Dennis Igbobo, Elvis Osas, Earnest Ugiagbe, Bright John, Lucky Iyare, Gift Osagie, Godday Ruth, Ovioma Gift, Otoboh Fabour, Believe James, Endurance Idemadia and Marian Josiah.
A portion of the casualties said that they were pushed by hardship and the scan for better open doors.
